WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?
Our Central New Plymouth Store is open Tuesday to Friday - 9.30am till 5pm and on Saturday from 9.30am till 2.30pm. Late Evening and Monday consultations are available by appointment only.
HOW SOON SHOULD I START LOOKING FOR MY GOWN?
Ideally allow at least 7-8 months from selecting your gown till your wedding date. Most of our gowns take approximately 4 months to arrive in store from date of ordering - we can shorten this time if necessary but this may incur a rush fee. Many Brides like to select and order their gown earlier as often the chosen gown dictates the theme of the wedding. We have sample gowns available to purchase off the rack if your wedding is sooner than delivery schedules allow.
IF I AM ORDERING A GOWN, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BE DELIVERED?
Depending on which Designer Collection you select your gown from - the delivery time can be between 3 and 5 months. We also recommend you allow 6-8 weeks after delivery until your wedding date to allow time for any necessary alterations. Dresses can be ordered on shorter time frames if necessary - however a rush fee may apply.
IS THE DRESS BEING ORDERED IN FOR YOU GOING TO BE A MADE TO MEASURE?
Some of our designers do offer a Made-to-measure option - but this can carry an additional cost. In most instances your gown is ordered to a standard size (based on a size chart provided by the designer) and will require a small amount of alterations on arrival. If your gown has a lace trimmed hem - we can order to the appropriate length to reduce alterations costs on arrival - in this instance it is necessary that you have your shoes picked out prior to ordering. Alternatively we can request your gown be shipped with the lace unattached at the hem to alleviate any difficulty in altering your gown on arrival.
DO YOU DO THE ALTERATIONS?
At present - due to space restrictions - we do not have a seamstress in store. We work with a group of very talented and experienced alterations specialists who we will refer you to - they will complete any necessary alterations. The cost of any required alterations is additional to the cost of your gown and payable directly to the seamstress.
DO I NEED TO MAKE A APPOINTMENT?
We do recommend making an consultation appointment if you wish to try on our selection of gowns. You are welcome to pop into our store at any time during opening hours to view our selection of gowns but an appointment is required to try gowns on.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT?
An average consultation takes approximately 90 minutes however we do allow up to 2 hours for your consultation. During this one-on-one time with one of our consultants - we will assist you in selecting the perfect style, shape and colour of gown for you and your special day. We can also assist you with selecting the perfect accessories to compliment your gown. There is no pressure or commitment to make your final selection at your initial consultation. You are welcome to shortlist gowns and return to make your selection.
IS THERE A CHARGE FOR THE APPOINTMENT?
We do charge a one-off $50 fee for our consultations - this is then deducted from the cost of your gown should you choose to order from us. There is no additional cost if you wish to return to re-try and select your gown or if you wish to return after ordering to select accessories.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT SUITS ME?
That is not a problem. Just come in with a open minded & enjoy the process. With our knowledge & experience we will help you find the perfect gown for you and we promise - you'll have a lot of fun!
WHO SHOULD I BRING WITH ME?
You should feel free to bring friends, family members or your wedding planner - anyone who's opinion your trust and value and who will help you make the right choice about your special day. Our consultations can be a lot of fun and are an important and special part of your wedding planning process.
DO I HAVE TO MAKE MY DECISION AT THE APPOINTMENT?
There is absolutely no pressure on you to make a decision during your consultation. We are more than happy to email you the details of your gown choice/choices for you to consider. You are also welcome to return and re-try your "shortlist" at any time at no additional cost.
I AM GETTING MARRIED IN 2 MONTHS, CAN I PURCHASE OF THE RACK?
You certainly can - we carry a wide range of sizes in our sample range and have more than 100 sample gowns in stock. We can, also, on occasion order from stock on hand or place a rush order - however this may incur an additional fee and would need to be discussed at your consultation.
AM I ALLOWED TO TAKE PHOTOS?
At this time, as per a request from our designers, we do not permit anyone to photograph the gowns during their consult. You are however, more than welcome to Skype/Facetime your friends/family during your consult if you wish to include them in the process. You are welcome to bring along your own smart device to do this - however we are set up in store to facilitate Skype video calls to your loved ones - there is no additional cost for this. Please let us know when you are booking your consult that you wish to do this so that we can insure we are set up and ready for you.
CAN I BUY A GOWN FROM YOU WITHOUT VISITING THE STORE?
Yes. We have done this successfully for several brides who have contacted us by phone & email. While we do not have an online shop - our full collection of gowns are available to view on our website and can be purchased without visiting our store. We will go through all the information required with you by telephone and arrange everything for you. Payment is done online.
HOW DO I PAY FOR MY DRESS?
We accept cash, cheques, Eftpos and all major credit cards. We can also accept direct credit payments. We can not order a gown until we receive your 50% deposit. The balance of your gown is due within 7 days of the delivery of the gown. We are happy to discuss payment plans and options with you at anytime.
CAN I PAY OFF A SAMPLE/SALE GOWN?
As with all gown orders - a 50% deposit it required to secure your gown. We like the balance of a sale gown to be paid off within 4 weeks however we are open to discussing payment plans if necessary.
DO YOU HAVE BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES?
Yes. We have a large selection of sample Bridesmaids gowns in store in a variety of colours and sizes. All of our gowns are available to order in a wide choice of colours and from sizes 2 to 30.
DO YOU SELL BALLGOWNS/FORMAL WEAR?
We have a large selection of Ball Gowns and Formal Wear in store. This stock is seasonal and updated regularly. Many of our Bridesmaid Gown options are suitable for balls and other formal occasions - to avoid disappointment we recommend coming in to view our collection as early as possible. We can on occasion order to suit.
DO YOU SELL SHOES, VEILS AND BRIDAL ACCESSORIES?
Yes - we have a full range of everything a Bride needs to complete her wedding day look. We have a range of designer shoes that are ordered to perfectly match your dress as well as a variety of styles, lengths and colours of veil. Our jewellery and accessories selection is continually updated.
WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT THE DRESS I HAVE CHOSEN?
Unfortunately once your deposit is received we are unable to change or cancel your order as it will have been ordered from the designer. However - we do take a lot of time and care to ensure that you are certain about your gown choice before we progress to order status.
